Checkpoint 6.2

1. The page layout is liquid. Attributes of liquid page design include the following: pages take up 100 percent of the browser window—there is no blank margin on the left or right side of the page. The middle area expands and contracts when the page is resized. The content flows to fill whatever size window is used to display it.
2. Maybe add a max/min width for page.
3. Configure the XHTML tag as a selector if the style is expected to be applied every time that tag is used. Configure an id if the style is for a specific element that is expected to occur only once on a page. Configure a class if the style is expected to be applied to a variety of different XHTML elements.

Some Recent Mods

A few weeks ago, I decided I wanted to change up the feeling my shifting experience. I bought this pre-drilled 8 ball on ebay which is much larger than the stock shift knob and a little heavier. Shifting is incredibly smooth. It feels very solid. the ball also sits higher than the stocker, so the center of gravity was a little different, giving the shift swing more leverage which was great. ALSO! check out my sexy DIY Crown Royal Black shift boot!! the cops will love it
Then guess what?!? My tax refund came in and I went a little nuts (for me at least) got some Rota RB 15x7 et35 which I have been kind of lookin at for quite some time. But when I actually had the money to get them I decided to go for it. Also got a decent, cheap(er) yet, nice looking quick-release steering wheel, hub, and adapter. havent installed it yet, but the is next on my list. sorry for the upside down pic. but you get the idea.
TIRES! These are great! especially since my old ones were bald and decided they wanted to take me off-roading one rainy day on my way to school.
mounted, balanced and a fresh alignment! woo!
oh yeah, and I also decided to lose the cheap home depot lip spoiler I made and got a real one. The "R" Package front lip spoiler looks great and also gives the appearance of a lower ride height. with my old wheels and ride height, this would be about 1/4" off the ground, but when i put the new tires and rims on, I adjusted the coil-overs and lifted the car up a hair, just getting rid of the fender gap. I didnt want to hide those beautiful new tires!!

Checkpoint 3.1

Checkpoint 3.1 1. List three reasons to use CSS on a Web page. 2. When designing a page that uses colors other than the default colors for text and background, explain why it is a good reason to configure both properties: text color and background color. 3. Describe one advantage to using embedded styles instead of inline styles. 1 Typography and page layout can be better controlled. These features include font size, line spacing, letter spacing, indents, margins, and element positioning. Style is separate from structure. The format of the text and colors used on the page can be configured and stored separately from the body section of the Web page document. Styles can be stored. You can store styles in a separate document and associate them with the Web page. When the styles are modified, the XHTML remains intact. This means that if your client decides to change the background color from red to white you only need to change one file that contains the styles, instead of each Web page document. 2 A good way to appeal to your target audience is to use contrast and use limited colors on your sight so it doesn’t appear to be so distracting. 3 One advantage to using embedded styles instead of inline styles is that it will effect the entire page, not just one specific line, making it easier to keep a clean, uniform webpage. It also is a lot quicker than having to type inline whenever you want to change the settings of a particular line.

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly

OK, I am about to post a couple of websites. One good, one bad. This is a class assignment. No offense

The Bad

One reason this website is no good is the fact that you can't navigate the site! AT ALL! Don't even try. Another reason is obviously there was no scheme selected. tons of different fonts. tons of different colors. The site also has a song, not bad, but it really irritates me when things don't load very quickly. And finally I can't tell who it is directed towards. It gives Emmanuel nightmares, fer REALZ. Its just an all around awful website. It should be taken offline immediately.

The Good

This, to me, is a good example of a decent website. I visit this site very often, for one it is easy as hell to navigate. The color scheme seems to be just right, very simple. The guy that maintains this site also takes all the photos and makes sure the scheme matches exactly what he is shooting for. Some little things he does makes all the difference and keeps me coming back for more.

Photoshoot

I HAD to photoshop some clouds into the picture because the the blank skyline made the picture look too sad. I think it turned out pretty awesome! for comparison, check out the other pics. enjoy.
